Woman biker arrives Zunheboto


Citizens of Zunheboto town accorded a warm welcome to a lone woman biker, Onenienla Imsong on July 5 at Centre Point, Zunheboto. She is touring the entire districts of Nagaland under the theme, “women empowerment.”

A press release from Like-minded Citizens of Zunheboto town media and publicity in-charge, Vitoka Aye stated that, the reception programme was organised by like-minded citizens of Zunheboto town along with Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ZCCI), Sumi Totimi Hoho (STH) Zunheboto unit.

Onenienla during her reception programme said that, she had made lot of efforts and faced challenges to undertake the adventure for the ride all over the districts. She urged the gathering that for passionate people there were always a way out and appealed them to have a wider perspective and not only focus in their kitchens. She thanked the Sumi community for making her feel at home with the best hospitality.

Earlier, STH Zunheboto unit led by Vikheshe Aye co-organising committee took Onenienla Imsong to the magnificent Church of Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto, and also attended the children’s service at SBAK Nito Mount and visited Gethsemane Prayer Centre and Sumi Martyrs Park Sukhalu village. 

Short speeches were also delivered by Hukashi Awomi general secretary STH Zunheboto unit and DC Zunheboto, Peter Lochem. 

Earlier, the lone woman bike rally by Oneninenla Imsong across Nagaland was flagged off by Nagaland governor P.B. Acharya at Raj Bhavan in Kohima on June 19. The bike ride has been aimed at highlighting the issues for women empowerment.
