Wafa Al-Rushaid is CEO of Raffles Education Middle East and Tamkeen Co., and sits on several chairs and boards.
She is one of the most distinguished female entrepreneurs in the Kingdom. Al-Rushaid is also president of the W Foundation, which aims to collect and preserve art in the Arab world.
She is well known for her work as a philanthropist and an advocate for women in the Kingdom, and owns one of the most important Arab women’s art collections in the country.
Al-Rushaid is also a respected writer, having authored multiple publications in Okaz newspaper and various books throughout her career, including “The liberation of the mind,” “A Scent of Soil A Scent of a Nation” and “The water crises in the Middle East and its impact on the peace process.”
Holding a Ph.D. in international relations and diplomacy, she has held a wide variety of memberships in prominent associations.
For more than eight years beginning in 2001, Al-Rushaid provided consultancy services in politics and economic development at the national offices of the UN Development Programme in Riyadh.
She was also a member of several advisory boards, including Asbar Think Tank, a board of trustees member on the Saudi Electric Services Polytechnic as well as a discussion participant in the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue.
Al-Rushaid has conducted research in numerous fields in the region, including civil societies in Saudi Arabia through the Hanns Seidel Foundation in 2006, as well as the importance of think tanks in foreign policy through the Asbar Council in 2019.
In 1999, she co-founded the Eastern Province Women’s Business Society.
