As part of the drinking water project 4000 LPH RO plant was installed to provide access to clean & safe drinking water to communities around.
Vedanta’s VGCB recently launched a drinking water project which will benefit over 2000 households from Visakhapatnam. As a part of CSR initiative, Vedanta’s VGCB installed a 4000 LPH capacity RO plant which is providing clean and safe drinking water supply to communities at very nominal cost. Earlier the project was launched in the distinguished presence of Honorable Mayor of Visakhapatnam Smt. Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari, Dr Mohammed Sadiq, Corporator 39th Ward, Mr. Vurukuti Narayana Rao, Corporator 29th Ward, Mr. C Sateesh Kumar, Dy CEO VGCB along with other dignitaries.
After the successful installation and commissioning, the plant was handed over for complete operation and maintenance to Old Town Development Committee, Visakhapatnam. The project would be operating in a self-sustainable model where the operational and maintenance cost of the plant would be met through the nominal price charges collection from communities towards the water dispensing. The honorable Mayor Smt. Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari appreciated VGCB’s efforts for the community and acknowledged VGCB’s Covid relief activities

Dr.Mohammed Sadiq, Corporator,39th ward, Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation and Chairman of Old town development committee wrote in his letter “with deep sense of gratitude I place on record my sincere appreciations to Vedanta, Vizag General cargo berth for their unflinching and wholehearted support for humanitarian cause of providing R.O. drinking water plant to the old town area, Visakhapatnam to ensure access to safe drinking water to the community”
Mr Ismail Mohammed, Project beneficiary appreciated Vedanta- VGCB for this initiative and said “RO plant installed at Old Town area is very useful and important initiative by Vedanta,VGCB. After this RO plant was inaugurated, we are very happy to get clean water at such low costs”
