THE UAE HAS JUST LAUNCHED A PLANT-BASED WATER BOTTLE February 24, 2020 February 24, 2020 / Brand CSR, CSR, Eco-Friendly, Environment, Innovation, No Plastic, Save Earth / By SLSV / Leave a Comment For the first time in the region, consumers will be able to buy bottled water without impacting the environment We all know that plastic bottles are bad for the environment. But it can be hard keeping the environment in mind when we’re focused on avoiding dehydration in the scorching Middle Eastern heat. Now, it seems that could be a thing of the past as a local water company has innovated a new disposable water bottle which is 100 per cent plastic-free and plant-based.For the first time in the region, consumers will be able to buy bottled water and dispose of the bottle without impacting the environment. The Al Ain Plant bottle (including its cap!) is made using plant sources which are completely biodegradable and compostable within 80 days. The product was developed by Agthia Group using a special polymer material made of fermented plant sugars. The kicker? Not a single drop of petroleum is involved, and the product uses 60 per cent less energy as compared to other packaging material. To recycle the bottle, you’ll need to find one of the new dedicated biodegradable bins, where it will then be taken away, recycled and transformed into another bottle. While the bottle is primarily to be stocked in hotels and restaurants, Agthia Group will be releasing it in stores at a later stage. Can’t wait, tbh! Article Credit: graziame
