As the whole nation patiently awaited for a breakthrough at the 2016 Rio Olympics, it was Sakshi Malik who delivered India’s first medal there. The whole nation erupted as she clinched an 8-5 win over Kyrgyz Aisuluu Tynybekova. With this victory she became the only Indian female wrestler ever to win an Olympic medal!
