Peddapalli: “Each and every individual along with the district officials should strive hard to stop violence against animals in their surroundings and to stop cruel behavior against them,” urged District in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy.
He held a meeting with the officials of departments concerned to discuss on preventing violence against animals, at the Collectorate conference hall in Peddapalli on Monday.
Prabhakar Reddy ordered the officials to create awareness among the people about the importance of animal wealth and to stop killing the animals and treating them cruelly.
The forest department officials must take initiation for protecting endangered species along with saving their lives. The circus organisers must take care of the animals by feeding them properly, ordered the in-charge Collector.
Several species of birds, animals and others have been disappearing. To maintain biodiversity, one must take care of them and must protect instead of hunting and poaching them, he suggested.
Reddy requested the public and the officials to protect the land in Peddapalli from encroachment to conserve animals and he also requested to conduct meetings and programmes frequently to create awareness among the people about the importance of animal wealth.
District Officer of Animal Husbandry Rajanna, District Public Relation Officer G Veeraiah, Motor Vehicle Inspector A Srinivas and SCAP members Rama Krishna and Mallesham were present along with others.
