The NICs (National Informatics Center) District Unit has announced the launch of the new application for benefiting the differently abled people. The new app launched by the NIC is termed to be one of its kind apps that have been developed till date. The app is termed as DAPWEL (Differently Abled Persons Welfare), and was officially launched by the IT Minister.
Launch Details
The new mobile friendly app was officially launched by M. Manikandan (Information Technology Minister). The new app was launched in an event organized at DDAWO (District Differently Abled Persons Welfare Office). The launch event was officially organized on 19th Jan 2018 in the presence the collector of the state S. Natarajan.
Key Features
- The state government has launched the new app with an aim to offer benefit to the people belonging to differently abled groups of individuals in the state. This will help them get benefit of different schemes launched by the state government.
- The beneficiaries can take full benefit of the scheme directly on their hand held devices and mobile phones. The benefit can also be taken by these people from any remote cyber café of other internet access points.
- According to the state government the new app could also be launched by the government and NIC on the state wide platform. Using the app differently abled people within the entire state would be able to get the full benefit of it.
- According to the statements made by the state government, people who are differently abled will also be provided with a unique Identity card for identification and registration with the DDAWO.
- The government has made it very clear that each registered person will also be able to take full benefit of all government welfare schemes. The process for application for registration for the new app can be done online once the app has been downloaded on the mobile phone.
- Using the new app services the beneficiary can get updates related to eligibility criteria for registration under schemes along with applying for availing identity cards. Other additional features will also be added in due time by NIC.
Process to download
To officially download the app on your mobile phone beneficiaries will have to visit the official web site at www.ramnad.tn.nic.in. Once visited then you just have to select to down load and install it on your mobile phone.
Using the new app services the state government aims at linking the differently abled persons with welfare schemes launched by the government. Under this new implementation the government aims at offering benefit to over 27591 people.
