It will focus on research in gender issues
A national conference on “Women empowerment and gender equality: Planet 50-50 by 2030” is being held at V Royal Park, Arundelpet here on March 1 in collaboration with United Nation Information Centre, New Delhi and British Deputy High Commission, Hyderabad. Guntur based DEEDS organisation, and Yes We Can, Visakhapatnam based organisation are hosting the conference.
Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner is the chief guest at the conference. Nalini Raghuraman, political economy advisor for British Deputy High Commission, Rajiv Chandran, national information chief for UNIC, Nisitha Satyam, and Priyadarshini Vijaisri, Centre for the study of developing societies, New Delhi are taking part in the event.
The conference, being held as a precursor to International Women’s Day celebrated on March 8, will focus on the research problems in the gender equality and women empowerment and further give a platform for people from different fields to discuss on the issues.
Students and scholars and faculty from different premium institutions are going to participate in the conference. Best papers and poster awards will be given by the organising committee after the presentations.
