Raah Foundation has won Palghar CSR Award 2020 under the category of Village Development for outstanding contribution towards sustainable socio economic development of Palghar, Kokan region at the 2nd edition Dialogue Palghar CSR conclave and awards on 6th Nov 2020.
The youngest tribal dominated district of Palghar has a long development road ahead. The district however is blessed with dynamic district administration, passionate NGOs and resourceful well meaning CSRs have all come together to contribute to achieve the UN Sustainable development goals.
Dialogue Palghar was launched in 2019 to bring all these stakeholders on one platform to ensure that efforts are mutually exclusive and exhaustive.
Palghar CSR awards recognise organisations that contribute towards the shared vision.
Raah Foundation was bestowed the prestigious award in the second edition. Award was received by Ms. Sonia Risbood; Head of Operations on behalf of the organisation. She expressed her gratitude for the recognition and also mentioned that this was an enormous responsibility as the expectations from Raah foundation have increased enormously after this award.
Dr. Sarika Kulkarni, Founder and Trustee of Raah Foundation who was also the Keynote speaker at the conference also expressed her gratefulness for the award and has promised that Raah Foundation will work harder to support the district administration to achieve all the development goals.
They also thanked Rusen Kumar and India CSR Summit to making all the efforts to organise the conference and awards and bringing all stakeholders together.
Raah Foundation is a for-purpose organisation registered with the Charity Commissioner of India. Its inception in January 2011 was a culmination of founders Dr.Sarika and Girish Kulkarni’s desire to use their management and entrepreneurship experiences to make a sustainable difference to the lives of the under privileged and the needy.
The Foundation takes a cluster approach to development of Jawhar & Mokhada blocks of Palghar District and works on core pillars of water & environment, agriculture, livelihoods and women empowerment, health and hygiene and revival of traditional art and culture. Raah Foundation was started with annual donations from the founders’ families and from the company of one of the founders (Suyash).
Its efforts are supported by numerous individuals and organisations such as Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiative, Deloitte Shared Services India, Shapoorji Pallonji Group, Bajaj Electrical, Ventura Securities, Mont Vert real estate, Ganesh Housing, Jade Enterprises, Puri Foundation USA and many others.
