Rajamahendravaram: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Rajahmundry Asset executive director DMR Sekhar has said that the oil major is in forefront in serving the needy in the society.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Thursday, he said the ONGC under its corporate social responsibility executed many development and welfare programmes in its operational area.
As part of it, ONGC has spent Rs 16 crore in 2017-2018 under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and in the last three years it had spent an amount of Rs 64 crore for various socio-economic development initiatives as per the norms of Government of India.
Recently, the ONGC has constructed 100 metres length of retaining wall between black bridge and red bridge in Amalapuram with an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore. The retaining wall was inaugurated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during his recent visit to Amalapuram.
The retaining wall strengthens the existing canal road and enables to ply vehicles in all-weather condition. An ONGC rig model also presented to Chief Minister after inaugurating the retaining wall, Sekhar said.
