Spanning an impressive 100,000 square feet across seven floors, MuSo provides a comprehensive array of exhibitions, activities, engagements, and learning experiences suitable for children aged three and above, accompanied by adults.
The JSW Group, valued at $23 billion, has inaugurated the Museum of Solutions (MuSo) in Lower Parel. This not-for-profit initiative, founded by Tanvi Jindal Shete, a trustee of the JSW Foundation, is a state-of-the-art, world-class museum designed to inspire children to become catalysts for positive change in the world.
What is MuSo all about?
MuSo offers a unique approach to learning, utilizing hands-on, immersive, and playful methods to explore critical global issues such as climate change, poverty, and inequality. The museum is directed by Michael Peter Edson and is strategically located in the Kamala Mills neighborhood of Lower Parel, open seven days a week to cater to the curiosity of young minds.
One of the standout features of MuSo is the inclusion of exciting interactive spaces, including four labs and a captivating “mangrove” tunnel. The tunnel, adorned with enchanting fairy lights, introduces children to native creatures and educates them about their vital role in the ecosystem. The four labs, aptly named ‘play,’ ‘discover,’ ‘make lab,’ and ‘grow lab,’ focus on fostering a solution-oriented mindset by presenting unique problems for children to solve.
Does it have an entry fee?
According to a recent article in The Times of India (TOI), an entry fee will be applicable, with Mondays designated as free entry days. This inclusive approach ensures that families who may face financial constraints can still benefit from the enriching experiences offered by MuSo.
The four labs within MuSo cater to various themes and problem-solving scenarios. The ‘play’ lab encourages interactive learning, the ‘discover’ lab stimulates curiosity, the ‘make lab’ sparks creativity, and the ‘grow lab’ instills a sense of environmental responsibility.
