Madhya Pradesh government approves 35% reservation for women in state government jobs

In a major development, the Madhya Pradesh government has increased the reservation quota for women in the state government recruitment to 35%. The announcement was made after a cabinet meeting which was headed by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at the Mantralaya in Bhopal on Tuesday. The decision has been viewed as a crucial step forward in the state’s commitment to women’s empowerment.

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla also mentioned that during the cabinet session, other important decisions were also taken like the age limit for recruitment of Assistant Professors in Medical Colleges was increased from 40 to 50 years. Around 254 new fertilizer sales centres will be established across the state.

The initiative aims to ease the procurement process for farmers and will reduce the long waiting hours. Farmers will be able to easily get the fertilizers and facilitate the payment process in cash.

Job prospects in Madhya Pradesh

In another move, the cabinet has also given the nod for the construction of a new 660-megawatt thermal plant in Sarni. The new power plant is expected to improve energy efficiency and will help in meeting the growing demand of the state. The Deputy CM further mentioned the state’s recent effort to attract investment, highlighting the success of the Regional Industrial Conclave which was held in Rewa. The event was attended by 4,000 investors and business leaders. An investment proposal of Rs 31,000 crore was received in the conclave and it is expected to generate 28,000 new jobs across the state. The conclave is also part of a bigger initiative-”Invest Madhya Pradesh-Global Investors Investor Summit-2025” (GIS 2025) which is scheduled to take place from 7 February to 8 February 2025 in Bhopal. The summit also aims to present Madhya Pradesh as a prime investment destination by showcasing its industrial potential and natural resources.
