Games24x7, India’s largest online skill gaming platform, announced today that it will contribute to the cause of child welfare in the country. The brand will make financial contributions and collaborate with some of the most prominent organisations working in this field; including the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation (KSCF), the Hemkunt Foundation, the Akshaya Patra Foundation, and the United Way of Bengaluru.
In the current fiscal year, Games24x7 has announced a total donation of 6 crore to child welfare causes such as protecting children from trafficking, facilitating education, distributing nutrition kits, and bridging the digital divide in education and training. These initiatives will help 15,000 children create a progressive blueprint for their future.
To begin, initiatives in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Delhi will be supported. The founders of Games24x7 hope that their involvement in these projects will raise awareness for these causes and encourage more investment from the tech sector, specifically the gaming industry.
Bhavin Pandya’s comment:
India’s tech sector represents a domain and people who have benefited the most from the Indian economy’s liberalisation. According to Bhavin Pandya, Co-founder and CEO of Games24x7, it is therefore critical that the tech sector; and the start-up community work towards alleviating the woes of those sections of the population; who were unable to benefit from economic reforms over the last three decades; and are now in danger of becoming even more marginalised as a result of the COVID-19 disruptions.
Recognizing the collaboration with Games24x7, Nobel Peace Laureate, Shri Kailash Satyarthi, KSCF stated that corporations that demonstrate compassion in action can lead to meaningful and large-scale social change. He is pleased with our collaboration with Games24x7 in the area of child welfare and protection. Satyarthi encourages more corporations to step forward and create real value, not just for profit, but also for people. He believes that investing in the well-being of children can not only improve the lives of children; but also help to build entire communities and countries.
Hemkunt Foundation Director Harteerath Singh stated that they have been working with Games24x7 for the past six months. Their dedication and contributions to COVID-19 relief efforts, and now to child welfare, are commendable and worthy of imitation.
