Foodies in UK and Ireland can soon taste the Double McPlant from McDonald’s plant-based offering

Burgers are a dish that receive criticism when it comes to promoting improved human health because they are not frequently marketed as being “good for you.” And let’s face it, who could ever refuse such flavorful juiciness between golden buns? Well, maybe you can consume cruelty-free burgers that are easier on your gut! Have you ever tried a vegan burger? Because unlike a burger derived from animal protein, plant-based cuisine is devoid of hormones, carcinogens, saturated fat, and trans-fat. Instead, they are packed with minerals, protein, and fibre. Your body may benefit from a plant-based burger in ways that a meat patty never could. And that is precisely why, from Wednesday, January 4th, McDonald‘s will be introducing the NEW Double McPlant across the UK and Ireland!

This is happening ahead of schedule for Veganuary2023. The Double McPlant is a new permanent addition to the menu. Read on to know more about it.

The USP of the McPlant

McDonald’s and Beyond Meat launched the Double McPlant Burger. The single-patty McPlant Burger was already widely available in the United Kingdom and Ireland but the double came as a surprise. Additionally, it is vegan-certified and prepared using special tools apart from ordinary McDonald’s burgers and sandwiches. A dinner will cost between £4.89 and £6.49 which ensures that all customers can now enjoy Double McPlant, including vegetarians, vegans, and flexitarians.

The humble beginnings of the Double McPlant

The Double McPlant is the latest addition to the illustrious lineup, joining the Double Big Mac, Chicken Big Mac, Double Quarter Pounder, Double, and Triple Cheeseburger that customers have come to know and love. Since its premiere in September 2021, the indubitably delicious McPlant, which took more than three years to produce, has proven to be incredibly popular with customers. It boasts a patty that was jointly created with Beyond Meat®. With two Beyond Meat® patties, a vegan sesame bread, mustard, ketchup, the best vegan sandwich sauce, fresh onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and of course vegan cheese that tastes exactly like McDonald’s famous cheese slices, the Double McPlant delivers twice the flavour and twice the enjoyment.

It’s no secret that many loved the flavour, and many of them took to Twitter to ask for a double serving. Products from the 2009-founded company Beyond Meat are created to mimic the flavour and texture of meat from animals while also providing some environmental advantages.

Accessibility of the McPlant

Following a successful launch the previous year, McDonald’s will begin serving the NEW Double McPlant on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at all of its outlets in the UK and Ireland. Fans pleaded for a burger with two of the beloved, juicy Beyond Meat® patties, and this twice-as-nice burger is the result. Just in time for those who are participating in Veganuary or who simply yearn for a delicious new McDonald’s burger.
