CNH Industrial has been recognized with a Silver CSR Times Award 2021 for its ‘Jal Sanchay’ initiative, a sustainability conservation project to rejuvenate community spaces in areas surrounding its operations in India.
With a commitment to providing the maintenance and upkeep of four ponds until March 2022, the project aims to revamp, rejuvenate and conserve three ponds in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh and one in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. The project helps recharge ground water by cleaning weeds, removing sludge, deepening the ponds, installing solar lighting, planting in addition to beautification. The initiative will also have a positive environmental impact in the long-term as the plantation work done in and around the ponds’ borders will enhance biodiversity in the area.
The awards, by CSR Times, a publication specializing in Corporate Social Responsibility in India, saw CNH Industrial’s project winning in the Environment, Climate, Forest, River/Water Waves category, at a virtual awards event held in December 2021.
