Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) will distribute free anti-TB kits to over 400 tuberculosis patients in the surrounding villages of Bokaro as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. On July 24, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between BSL and Piramal Swasthya at Ispat Bhavan to facilitate this campaign.
The MoA was signed by Dr. R.K. Gautam, ACMO of BSL, and Nitin Pathnam Rebba, Senior Program Director of Piramal Swasthya. The event was attended by BSL’s Executive Director (HR) Rajan Prasad, Chief Medical Officer Dr. B.B. Karunamay, Chief General Manager (HR) Hari Mohan Jha, General Manager (Communication and Administration) C.R.K. Sudhanshu, senior doctors from BGH, Senior Manager (CSR) Neeraj Tripathi, and Deputy Manager (CSR) Ashok Kumar. Representatives from Piramal Swasthya, including Senior Program Director Nitin Pathnam Rebba and Manager (Operations) Shailendra Sahay, were also present. Additionally, District TB Officer Dr. Zafrullah, Dr. A.K. Jha, Hemant Kumar Jha, District Program Officer Nitin, R. Ranjan, and Nitin Kumar Singh attended the event.
Under this MoA, BSL will provide free anti-TB kits to more than 400 TB patients in the identified villages over the next six months through Piramal Swasthya. It is noteworthy that Piramal Swasthya’s team has been providing healthcare services in the surrounding villages through the mobile medical unit Ispat Sanjeevani under BSL’s CSR initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director (HR) Rajan Prasad emphasized BSL’s active contribution to the health sector through its CSR initiatives and expressed optimism about the positive outcomes of this new initiative. Dr. Karunamay highlighted the importance of high-protein anti-TB kits for the health of TB patients. Representatives from Piramal Swasthya also shared their thoughts and provided information about the anti-TB kits.
