Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkashrecently inaugurated various works under ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ initiatives being undertaken by United Phosphorous Limited (UPL) at Vijaypur and Ramgarh.
The initiatives which were dedicated to the public included, toilet facilities at Govt Higher Secondary Schools Vijaypur and Ramgarh constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.5 lakh. The facilities comprise of two separate units each for boys and girls. The Govt Higher Secondary schools Vijaypur, Jakh and Ramgarh have also been adopted by the I&C Minister.
The Minister urged the officials of UPL and Sarswati Agrochemical Limited to provide infrastructural facilities like desks at GHSS, Vijaypur under CSR. The Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Jakh, which has been adopted by UPL will soon be equipped with smart classes and also get 200 benches and improved playfield and assembly ground.
The Minister also directed school authorities at Ramgarh to formulate proposals for school ground face-lifting and additional playground. He expressed satisfaction with facilities like smart classes, music classes, labs available at the school.
He was told that the student strength at Ramgarh School has increased to 650 against 400 which is the healthy trend. He said that regular efforts will be made to improve infrastructure and staff strength in the schools and focus is on ensuring that students get quality education so that they compete at the national level.
The Minister was accompanied by DDC Samba, Sheetal Nanda, SDM Vijaypur Ravinder Sharma, CEO Samba O P Bhagat, XEn PWD K S Nathyal, Tehsildar Ramgarh Jai Kumar Sharma, Principal GHSS Ramgarh J S Manhas, Director UPL Alvin Moses and other officials.
