Ucommune Founder Awarded for Corporate Social Responsibility

Ucommune’s Daqing Mao has been recognized by the Global CSR Foundation for “corporate social responsibility, innovative ways of doing business, and supporting sustainable development.”

The founder of China’s Ucommune, Daqing Mao, has won the Global CSR Innovation Award to be presented by the UN Global Corporate Social Responsibility Summit in mid-October.
The summit is held every year to award the enterprises and individuals that contribute to the United Nations’ goal of achieving sustainable development by 2030.

“The award is a token of appreciation to your extraordinary contributions to corporate social responsibility, innovative ways of doing business, and supporting sustainable development,” the chief executive officer of Global CSR Foundation and chairperson of the summit, Jing Zhao, said in his letter to Mao in September.
Ucommune, reportedly planning an initial public offering in New York, designs community workspace and promotes urban renewal in China, upgrading properties to make them efficiently organized.

Similar to WeWork, Ucommune has grown rapidly in recent years. By the end of 2018, the company has worked with 200 office spaces in 44 cities and had a network of more than 300,000 global members.

Mao is the grandson of Ziyao Mao, an architect who helped design Beijing’s Great Hall of the People, according to public reports.

The summit will take place on Oct. 15 at UN headquarters in New York.
