61-year-old marathoner runs from Kashmir to Kanyakumari for differently-abled soldiers

JAMMU: At the age of 61, marathoner Kumar Ajwani (61) has undertaken 4,444 km run from Jammu and Kashmir to Kanyakumari to spread awareness and raise funds for disabled soldiers.


PRO Defence Jammu Lt Col Devender Anand said, “Set to cover the distance over the period of 77 days, Kumar Ajwani is going to create a world record, specifically an Indian at this age.”

“Kumar Ajwani was flagged off from office of Rajya Sainik Board by director, Brig Gurmeet Singh Shan at 6.30 am in the presence of a large number of Ex-servicemen.”


“Director Rajya Sainik Board appreciated the efforts of Kumar Ajwani and his team for running for such a Noble Cause,” Col Anand said.
Earlier on September 26, Lt Col Sriram has set a new Guinness world record for the ‘Fastest Solo Cycling – (Men) from Leh of UT Ladakh to Manali (Himachal Pradesh) on September 26.
